Table for lamp Regence BC007
Elegance lies more in the heart and soul than in appearance, but by our actions and words we prove its presence in us.
Ruth Hogan, “The Wisdom of Sally”
Nobility can be traced in the subtle details of human existence: attentive attitude to oneself and loved ones, a pleasant voice and soft movements, loyalty to one’s choice, moderation in consumption and giving. The place where he is sincere with himself, where he rests from the worldly bustle, where he is at home, speaks extremely truthfully about a person. It is the interior that best describes the values of a person, his worldview and aspirations. The place where we go into the world of dreams and repressed into the unconscious images of the day is special. Having studied the place for sleeping and waking up, you can tell a lot about its owner: a bed with a hard mattress and uncompromisingly right angles or a soft sofa with playful patterns on the cast back? A cozy place for one with an exceptional sleep function or a spacious four-poster double bed for long Sunday awakenings, slowly passing into breakfast right in bed?
Or take the twilight keeper of things for evening and morning rituals — a bedside table. Which one do you like?
For example, it is abundantly decorated with carvings, mosaics with ancient subjects and ivory of the sublime times of Louis XIV. The carved cabinets probably contain rich decorations, a tastefully inlaid scallop for the chic hair of the hostess, and on the gilded tabletop there are porcelain figurines of lionesses donated by fans.
The bedside table of a later period is made of aggressively mahogany wood of a rare breed, without a scope, but with a modest elegance of smooth legs. Only connoisseurs of eighteenth-century art are able to appreciate the value of its simplicity. Surely its owner is pragmatic and straightforward, outwardly cold, however, conservatively devoted to loved ones and his work. Next to the discreet but solid wristwatch and the revealed chess of the owner, it will not be surprising to see a code of laws with an equally clear mechanism of action.
Completely different are the adherents of the Empire. A married couple with free views on the world, lovers of daring combinations both in furniture and in life: their cabinet is accurately made according to the original sketch and intelligently inscribed in the recess at the bed. A bronze border on a dark tree, pompous lion heads and Egyptian patterns radiate a calm high cost, but without snobbery. Custom lighting does not break out of the style, but emphasizes unusual combinations in the interior, where you want to come to visit more often, noticing new details and allusions to works of art and historical events of different eras, their intertwining and regularities. Intelligence and creativity are the main values of the adherents of the Empire style. Therefore, for sure on the pedestal we will not see an abundance of decorations, but the books here replace each other, not having time to gain at least a millimeter of dust on the spine.
We are different, but we are united in one thing – respect for the quality and durability of actions, deeds and results. That is why all the cabinets and bedside tables are one hundred percent handmade, made by experienced craftsmen of the production of Yves Fouquet using unique technologies directly from the founders of the creation of furniture.
